Is That A Cold Sore On Your Lip, Or A Bad Reaction To That Overpriced Animal Tested Lipgloss?

So you just returned from the doctor with the dreaded news that you have a sexually transmitted disease. Outside of the overwhelming anxiety that's causes your heart rate to beat tremendously, you realize you have some unfinished business to take care of. You want to contact the person(s) that you've possibly infected or been infected by with the disease. Picking up the phone seems too traditional so you ponder on other methods that are a tad bit less confrontational yet sincere. Well you're in luck because there's a new service called inSpot.org that allows you to anonymously contact a person you've suspected of passing or receiving an STD from. This website allows you to send a variety of clever yet thought provoking greeting cards; warning the alleged "victim of intimacy" that they've possibly contracted a sexually transmitted disease, all while remaining anonymous. Outside of the anonymous STD greeting cards there are several other services such as a local clinic directory, as well as extensive education on various STDs.

...Great, so after you've whored your self to some guy you've met on a rebound yet barely know outside of what he tells you - reality sets in. Instead of blaming it on alcohol or bad decision making while crying in your friend's shoulder asking for advise, you can now use inSpot to help temporarily patch up your feelings by saving yourself the embarrassment. After all, we all make mistakes right? It just so happens your mistakes reoccur more than an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. All pun intended.

There's a new study out of Boston University of Health that claims that alcohol consumption causes brain shrinkage. Although brain shrinkage is completely normal with age, alcohol seems to add to the effects of dementia which leads to the reduction of brain volume. The study reflects people who consume on an average of 8-14 drinks a week. In the end result the brain shrinkage isn't significantly damaging, yet there are visible results. It would take decades of alcoholism to contribute a massive decline of brain volume such as the use of Ecstasy.

Wow that explains a lot. For a while I thought the people around me were getting smarter when in reality it's just me getting stupider. There I go again, always putting my optimism because intellectual aptitude.

Have you ever heard the analogy, "don't become a horse stuck in a tree." Of coarse you haven't because I just made it up moron. OK....sure it doesn't make sense but can you actually imagine a horse becoming stuck in a tree? Sounds silly, but probably looks even sillier.

Today it seems you can never take too many safety precautions to protect an infant baby. Everything from bulletproof vests, to bullet proof strollers can be purchase these days for the safety of your baby. Sounds unrealistic? That's what I thought until I ran into a company called BulletProofBaby. They specialize in these type of products. For the right price you can purchase your baby his or her own riot helmet or even a chemical defense gas mask. Be creative and mix and match. I'm sure the baby will love it.

Update: When signing the guestbook, please try to leave behind an email so I can reach you. The last couple of private messages I haven't been actually able to respond to. Thanks

Final Thought: I try my best to connect to everyone possible. At times I want to seem like the pastor speaking to the congregation. What am I talking about? Well the way the pastor gives a sermon that feels like it's directly related to you in particular is how I want to come off. That's the type of chemistry I look to build on within my writing. Sometimes I come across successful, while other times it's pure epic failure. Either way I'm trying, give me a break.

Ehhh. Been there done that. Nothing like having an STD.
That shit is a reality check like nooooo other. Thank GOD it was curable!

But for real, one of the things I was most proud to do for myself (long story short: a college "friend" decided she hated me and put me on blast on fb for having gotten "burned") was take what someone was trying to make me ashamed of and use it to help others. A lot of people asked me about my experience after that. If I prevented one person from making a much worse mistake -- it was worth it.

Final thought: People can only make you ashamed of what you allow them to. Life is hard. Shit happens. Hindsight is 20/20 etc etc. But your life can only be lived by you. So do that shit. Everyone lives with regrets, ask Jay Z.
P.S. I wasn't whoring around lol. Just fell for the wrong guy :/

Cutie S - Wow, I respect you a lot more now than I did ever...and you already know how highly I think of you. The fact that you turned a negative into a positive, all while acknowledging the aftermath and dangers of ruining your reputation says a lot. Too many people walk around ashamed, not knowing if they educate others about their experiences then more people will protect themselves.

...for the most part, I don't think anyone on this site knows I know you personally till now. I tried to keep it a secret (I've even lied to my friends when they've asked LOL), but you kinda hinted at our history a couple of posts back. I want to take time to describe the type of person you are, because I'm pretty sure your comment intrigued many people, just as well as it did for me. "Cutie S" (nickname I gave you at 16 right?) you're definitely different than most females. I hate to hear one of your buddies aired your business; you're a good person so I know that tarnished how people perceived you for a while.

You're possibly one of the few close females I've had a genuine friendship with in high school and it didn't lead to anything physical. The 1st female I've ever come across that didn't come off as a tad bit of a simpleton, or worst. For a while I blamed it on you being a little older than me, but that’s bullshit – I just gotta admit you’re intellectually gifted……and for once I couldn’t outsmart someone.

...Getting back to the topic. Your final thought is so true. And don’t worry; I don’t think you were whoring. Unless you changed drastically since high school I don’t think that’s possible.

I wonder why Magic got a cure for AIDS or at least something to calm it down and nobdy else does? I know $$$ Talks but I don't know of anyone else who had a cure for it. Alcohol consumption...maybe that's why I don't like to drink with the exception of Bombay Sapphire and Corona's. Mixing them two up with me could lead to me "Living my life, like everyday is my last night".

EVERYONE: It's okay...LYNDA is BACK!!! LOL

HMMMM...I see A LOT has been goin on in my absence...

In all seriousness Cutie S "maned up" this post. I remember when I was younger n THOUGHT I got burned...WORSE FEELING...EVER!!!! n just the thought had me in tears for 3 days!!!

But we all forget that fear once the results come back n everything is okay...we just go back to doing whatever it is that we were doing!

I heard once on the radio that when something GOOD happens to us...we broadcast it WORLDWIDE...BUT when something bad happens no one ever talks about it...I thought it sounded corny when the lady said, that TALKING about it is a healing process n that it helps not only the person but whom ever they talked to, because the other person might have went through the same thing...just never mentioned it!

So Cutie gets big ups from me...N I usually don't do that!...lol

Okay my Oprah moment is DONE!

Steve: u n ur "analogies" ... SMH!!! I told u holla @ me about therapy...I can add u to my insurance plan n get that taken care of...BUT I think this would darken up everyones day!!!

I know Sandy is lerkin in the bushes somewhere...so this post should start poppin off in a minute!

Let The games begin...Gotta love it!

Why must I be portrayed as the shit starter LOL. To be honest I'm still exhausted from the last post.....(my eyes roll and I sigh deeply). But I never am one to disappoint so give me a minute and I think some shit up!!!

Cutie s your bravery is amazing and Im glad your doing better!! I know what you mean when you say you just fell for the wrong guy. The face of STDs is always seen as a slutatious girl or guy, but the truth of the matter is there had to be a spreader. It does take two to tango, but one to pass it!! The other is just a victim.

I know that took a lot of strength and courage!! And never allow yourself to be in that predicament again you are too valuable to be a statistic!!

See Sandy is nice also!!

Angelo: You aint never lied cause Cookie tested negative and magic ain't losing weight and he has had that for quite some time. I dont know what they gave him but its messed up that so many people are dying and the cure is out there.

P.S. Welcome back Lynda!! You and Cutie S were a bit MIA and I was begining to miss the LIT regulars!!!

Believe you me, it was not easy, and I lost a good number of "friends", but I found out who my REAL friends were and still am cool with them to this day.

Kells: Actually, I was 18 when you gave me that nickname. I still don't know what the 'S' stands for!!! lol. But I do still have the small card it was written on :) memories.... I'm older, but like a fine, fine, fine wine I only get better!

Lynda: My mom was my ROCK throughout the time. Just talking to her helped me soooo much. She even told me some stuff about herself that I never knew and changed a couple of ways I percieved the world and people.

Sandy P: my motto? WRAP THAT SHIT UP!!!!! lmao. several times. better yet. practice abstinence. The safest sex is none at all! but for real WRAP THAT SHIT UP! lol

Hold up! Like half you mugs got blogs. I got some readin to do. And some updating of my own, i'm slackin :/

Cutie S good motto!! I believe in celibacy until you’re in a monogamous relationship with someone you have taken the time to get to know extensively!! Because you can wrap it up all you want but there are still disease that you can catch with a rubber on!!! I think people these days want to go from 0 to 60 in like 5 seconds. Would you trust a stranger with your life? Hell know!! Well sex is the same thing. I can cost you your life and people need to understand that. I tell my little cousins "Raw doggin will have yo ass itchin for life on in a coffin!!" !!

BTW I think the card is a great idea cause some people are so ashamed that they won't say anything!! Atleast with the greeting card that unlucky guy/girl will know right away. Its gon have some hot booties scared to check the mail tho LOL

Angelo - The Magic Johnson HIV situation is something that has bothered me for a while….

Magic Johnson. Offtopic: Have you notice that we never hear about his wife and her status as far as the HIV virus? Sure it's a sensitive topic, but I've always questioned her status, mainly because if shes still infected with the virus then can't he be reinfected?” – Steve Kells, November 21, 2007

…There’s something fishy going on that the general public doesn’t know about. I’m just shocked more people aren’t as curious as we are.
